🎭 A funny story to practice voice projection and mouth movements (lip-syncing).
This short skit is perfect for introducing children to ventriloquism or simply for having fun changing their voices. It features a lovable monster (like the Fienchen model) and a human character. It’s an excellent theater exercise for building self-confidence and improving articulation.

(The Monster enters, humming very off-key with his mouth wide open)
THE MONSTER:
La la laaaa! I'm a staaaaar! Listen to my beautiful voice! (He screams really loud) AAAAAH!
(The child covers his ears)
THE CHILD:
Whoa! Stop! You're not singing—you're screaming! You're going to wake up all the stuffed animals in the store!
THE MONSTER:
(Sadly, closing his mouth) Oh... But I want to sing at the opera. Like this: (He opens his mouth wide without making a sound, then lets out a little squeak) ...squeak?
THE CHILD:
That's better! Listen, with that big mouth of yours, Living Puppets, you can do better than that. Try singing "Au Clair de la Lune" really softly.
(The Monster tries, completely focused. He makes exaggerated mouth movements.)
THE MONSTER:
In the... light... of the... plum? I'm hungry!
THE CHILD:
(Laughter) From the MOON! Not from a plum! Come on, shall we sing together for the audience?
(They turn to the children and sing together. The monster eventually tries to "eat" the last note.)
